A Message from Sister Jacquelyn, Our CEO

                                                   Meet Sister Jacquelyn

"At Bethany we continue to live out the mission of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Boston in a really unique way. We talk about the Dear Neighbor all the time, but the Dear Neighbor is really, for us, our real neighbors. The people who we care for are actually the people who have lived across the street, across the lake, and down the street. They are people who grew up in this neighborhood who are now elders and in need of some care. There is a bond that was already established prior to them coming here. Our Residents’ children went to our schools so when the children of our residents come to visit their loved one they all know each other because they grew up in the neighborhood together.

Our residents are neighbor to our staff, because many have the unique background of all being educators, or pastoral associates and more. The pastoral side of their ministry continues here in a very special way, not just with the staff, but also with the families. We see sisters sitting with the families and sitting with the staff. The staff brings in their children – the parents are anxious for them to meet the sisters.

Bethany reaches out to people beyond our “hill”. We sponsor a breast cancer walk, and the Walk for Hunger. Additionally, Bethany donates to the food pantry in Framingham, and at Christmas time we contribute to the food pantry and donate gifts to the children at the Ashland family center.

As a Sponsored Ministry of the Sisters of St. Joseph, Bethany Health Care continues to do what we always have done for fifty years – that is to educate, to care for, to be with, and to journey with our neighbor."
