Dr. Sherlyn L. Fenton (Sherry) is the Chief Development Officer for Bethany Health Care Center. Her responsibilities include developing and executing Bethany’s philanthropy program. Before joining Bethany, Sherry served as Director of Quality and Compliance for a large, multi-facility, nonprofit organization benefiting foster children and seniors, where she established successful development systems such as grant writing, appeal campaigns, and an annual golf classic.
Sherry earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from Tufts University in 1987. While practicing in the physical rehabilitation and industrial medicine settings, in 1997 she received her Master’s degree from the University Of Massachusetts Lowell, School Of Environmental Engineering, focusing on ergonomics and human factors. Sherry then returned to Tufts University and completed her Doctor of Occupational Therapy in 2010.
Sherry has served as a leader throughout the healthcare continuum. She has enjoyed her roles as a clinician, manager, consultant, author, graduate-level lecturer, and entrepreneur in rehabilitation, quality, and clinical compliance. Sherry is the past President of the Massachusetts Association for Occupational Therapy (MAOT) and served as Vice Chair for the American Occupational Therapy Association’s (AOTA) Committee for State Association Presidents (ASAP) and Representative of ASAP to AOTA’s Representative Assembly.
With encouragement and support from Bethany CEO/Administrator Sr. Jacquelyn McCarthy, Sherry started Quality Rehabilitation Services, LLC in 2007. She continues to be a life-long learner, receiving her Certification as a Professional Compliance Officer (CPCO) in 2021. Sherry lives in Plainville, MA, with her husband Marc, and is thrilled to support the mission of the Sisters of St. Joseph at Bethany Health Care Center.
