Activities at Bethany

Bethany Health Care Center’s activities professionals are committed to the total well-being of our residents. We recognize that elders who are engaged in their daily lives and the world around them do better physically and emotionally. For our residents, especially those experiencing chronic or debilitating illnesses, the programs and events provided through our Activities Center are key in creating opportunities for needed socialization, stimulation and homelike experiences. The daily social, intellectual, spiritual and physical activities enjoyed by our residents are essential in order to maximize their fulfillment, independence and quality of life.

Bethany’s bright, spacious new Activities Center, opened in 2018, is the hub of our program and the wide array of activities offered on a daily basis. From interactive concerts and lectures to hands-on cooking, gardening and craft projects, there is something for everyone to enjoy at Bethany!

Our new Activities Center building nearly triples the size of its former space. Floor to-ceiling windows and two bay window areas allow our residents to feel the benefits of abundant sunlight and take in a panoramic view of the surrounding landscape.

The new center also provides options for large and small group gatherings, intimate seating areas and a large kitchen area designed with those in walkers or wheelchairs in mind. A state-of-the-art audio visual system makes it possible for our residents to more fully participate and enjoy programs and events, as well as to interact visually with other members of the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph outside of Bethany.

A new patio area is the perfect spot for residents to exercise, picnic or just immerse themselves in the serenity of the outdoors. Even residents with the most severe limitations can safely congregate with others in the Activities Center and participate in personalized activity programs. Residents from Bethany’s Memory Impairment Unit have access to a secured patio featuring walking paths and benches. An enclosed water feature completes the picture, creating a tranquil and soothing experience for all residents.
